Founder's Note
I didn't set out to start a medical device company.
I set out to help my patients.
Neurovana is a provider-owned company. I still see 20-25 patients every day at Harmony Mental Health, the psychiatric clinic which I own in Boise, Idaho. Tyson Flower, our Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Educator, does the same. Everything we offer — the clinical playbook, the implementation model, the training we provide to partner providers — comes from what we've actually built and tested in a real clinical practice, not from a marketing team.
After nearly a decade practicing psychiatric care, I kept running into the same situation: patients who wanted real relief from anxiety and insomnia but didn't want more medication — or couldn't tolerate what they'd already tried. They weren't asking for a miracle. They were asking for something safe, effective, and manageable in their daily lives. And I didn't always have a great answer for them.
That changed when I learned about Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation.
I did what any clinician does — I went to the research first. What I found surprised me: hundreds of published human studies, FDA clearance dating back to 1978, and a safety profile that most psychiatric interventions can't match. So I started prescribing it in my practice. And then I watched it work — consistently, meaningfully, for patients who had tried a lot of other things without success.
What frustrated me was realizing how few people knew this even existed. Most patients had never heard of CES. Most providers hadn't either. And the few who had often didn't have a practical, sustainable way to bring it into their practice.
That's why I founded Neurovana — to close that gap. To make CES visible, accessible, and easy to integrate, whether you're a patient looking for a drug-free option or a provider looking to expand what you can offer.
We believe CES belongs in mainstream psychiatric care. We built Neurovana to put it there.
